And He has cast into the earth firmly set mountains, lest it shift with you, and [made] rivers and roads, that you may be guided, - Quran:An-Nahl 16:15 (islam)

-Does the earth stand on a whale, fixed on it by firm mountain, so it doesn't shake to much?
- How come earthquake are more numerous around mountains?
- What is the opinion of Tabari in his tafsir?

And We placed within the earth firmly set mountains, lest it should shift with them, and We made therein [mountain] passes [as] roads that they might be guided. - Quran:Al-Anbya 21:31 (islam)

-If mountains were set to stabilize the earth how come there is more earthquake near mountains?
- Why science says mountain are the results of tectonic shift, instead of being planted directly by God?

We have already sent Our messengers with clear evidences and sent down with them the Scripture and the balance that the people may maintain [their affairs] in justice. And We sent down iron, wherein is great military might and benefits for the people, and so that Allah may make evident those who support Him and His messengers unseen.
